It is our goal at Camp that every child has a fantastic experience. In order to achieve this we must maintain high standards of behaviour. We provide a safe environment where children are encouraged to have as much fun as they possibly can, in an environment where they feel confident and respected. We want the children to try new activities, make new friends, develop their skills and have a fantastic time whilst being physically active.
With our goal in mind, if we feel that a camper’s behaviour is unacceptable our coaches will deal with it immediately. The camper will be spoken to initially and if the inappropriate behaviour or language does not improve, the camper’s parents will be contacted, and if necessary they will be asked to collect their child from camp.
We have a zero tolerance approach to bulling and any form of bullying is swiftly dealt with.
Keeping our campers safe is our number one priority and all of our staff have a duty of care to follow. If they consider a child to be at risk or if a child makes a discloser they must follow our child protection policy, which is in line with the Essex County council policy.
Any information that we receive (either verbal or written) from you is kept strictly confidential and is only shared with the coaches who will be leading your child’s sessions.
At Camp 4 Champs we aim to offer an equal opportunity to each and every camper with no exceptions. We will adapt sessions in order to cater for all and we except no instances of discrimination by coaches, other parents or campers.
Health and Hygiene
Water is available at each of our sites and we encourage children to fill their water bottles up when they are running low.
We ask that the children be sent to camp with a health and nutritious packed lunch so they have enough energy to keep going all day! Visit https://www.nhs.uk/change4life/recipes/healthier-lunchboxes for fun and interesting pack lunch ideas.
Peanut allergies affects around 2% (1 in 50) of children in the UK and has been increasing in recent decades. Please help to keep everyone safe and do not include any nuts in your child’s packed lunch. Even if your child is not allergic they may be sat next to one of their friends who has an allergy.
If your child is ill, please do not send them to camp as they may not be able to take part in our fun activities, and may make other children or coaches ill.
If your child falls ill whilst at camp we will contact home straight away and care for them until you are able to collect.
Health and Safety
All of our coaches are first aid trained and we all carry a basic first aid kit.
Both of our sites are secure closed sites, with no access from members of the public.
At Camp 4 Champs we have a very low coach to camper ratio. By keeping the ratios low we feel our children get a positive camp experience.
All of our coaches are fully qualified and hold current DBS certificates.
Both of our sites have amazing facilities, which are of a very high standard. All of our equipment is checked before sessions to ensure that we only run sessions with perfect equipment.
All of the equipment that we use is age and size appropriate.
