Administering Medication Policy

Any medication that a child needs must be labelled with their name and given in at registration. If medicine is to be administered by the child (e.g. an asthma inhaler) the child is to keep it in their pocket or give it to the coach leading the session so that it is easily accessible at all times.

If the medication is to be administered by a Camp 4 Champs member of staff, a parent or carer must complete a Request to Administer Medication Form. Without a completed form, staff will not administer any medication. Prescription medication will only be administered if the child’s name is clearly printed on the packaging.  

A Medication Log Sheet will be kept and shared with the parent at pick up time.

All medication, Request to Administer Medication Forms and Medication Log Sheets will be kept in the Medication Box. 


The policy will be reviewed a year after development and then every 12 months, or in the following circumstances:

  • Changes in legislation and/or government guidance
  • As a result of any other significant change or event
