what children do at camp

Every day includes a mix of active play, creative activities and structured group time.

sports & games

sports, games and proper holiday energy

Camp 4 Champs is packed with sport, games and proper holiday energy. Children enjoy active, varied days with team games, races, obstacle courses, challenges and mini tournaments that keep them moving, laughing and coming home tired for all the right reasons.

Activities may include favourites such as dodgeball, football, netball, kwik cricket, rounders, basketball, tag rugby, hockey, tennis-style games, badminton, volleyball, athletics, benchball, handball, archery, gymnastics, sports acro, parachute games, relay races, capture the flag and team challenges.

The programme is structured, but never dull. Activities are adapted by age, confidence and ability, so children can join in, try new things, build skills and enjoy a bit of friendly competition without the pressure of a formal sports club. It is energetic, inclusive and properly fun, with staff keeping the day safe, organised and full of momentum daily.

crafts, cookery & featured activities

creative activities included

Camp is not just about running around, although there is plenty of that too. Children also enjoy a changing mix of crafts, cookery and featured activities throughout the week, giving them time to make, build, bake, dance, create and try something different.

Across the holidays, activities may include themed crafts, baking, mocktails, discos, Just Dance, forest school, inflatables, pool parties, Nerf-style games, slip and slide, creative challenges, construction activities, sensory play, seasonal projects and team challenges.

We change the programme each holiday so camp feels fresh, exciting and full of variety. Some children love the big-energy activities, others prefer making something they can take home, and plenty enjoy both. The aim is simple: keep children curious and interested, involved and looking forward to what comes next, with safe, structured activities that still feel like proper holiday fun.

swimming at selected sites

available at selected venues

At selected venues, children can enjoy supervised swimming as part of their camp day. Our pool sessions are carefully managed in line with our safety procedures, with a qualified lifeguard present at all times. The lifeguard’s sole responsibility is to supervise the pool, and they are not included within our group supervision ratios. Swimming at camp is designed to be a fun, relaxed play session rather than a formal lesson. During the booking process, we ask parents to tell us about their child’s swimming ability so staff can support children appropriately. Non-swimmers and less confident swimmers remain in the shallow area with appropriate flotation support where needed, so they can enjoy the water safely and comfortably. Staff supervise changing arrangements and offer age-appropriate support where needed, but children must be able to dress and change with reasonable independence..

Availability varies by venue and holiday programme.

no screen time at camp

Camp 4 Champs is screen-free during the camp day. Instead of phones or tablets, children spend their time moving, playing, making, joining in and building confidence with other children. If an older child needs a phone for travelling to or from camp, it should remain switched off and stored in their bag during the day.

optional tuck shop treats

Each site has an optional tuck shop for small school holiday treats. If you choose to send pocket money, we recommend keeping it small and manageable.

  • Suggested amount: £1-£2 per child per day
  • Available at selected sites only
